The thrilling sprint on the Caracciolo Lungomaret saw Olav Kooij (Team Visma – Lease a Bike) clinch the ninth stage of the FantaGiro d’Italia, from Avezzano to Naples.
The 22-year-old Dutch sprinter earned 90 points distributed as follows: 50 for the stage win, 20 for the “you don’t forget your first” bonus (awarded to a rider winning a Giro d’Italia stage for the first time), and another 20 for the Special Napoli Jersey bonus.
Completing the stage podium were Mirco Maestri (Team Polti Kometa) with 59 points and Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates) with 51.
