With a solo finish at the Sappada finish line, Andrea Vendrame (Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale Team) also clinches the stage victory in the FantaGiro d’Italia.
The Veneto-born 29-year-old rider accumulated a total of 90 points distributed as follows: 50 for the stage win, 3 for intermediate sprints, 15 for 2nd category King of the Mountain (KOM) points, 4 for 3rd category KOM points, 10 for the “Breakaway Bonus” thanks to his victory after a solo breakaway of over 20 km, and 3 for the Equipment Bonus. Vendrame also earned 10 points for the Breakaway Award, with a penalty of -5 points due to a fine against his team.
Completing the stage podium Julian Alaphilippe (Soudal Quick-Step) with 66 points and Pelayo Sanchez (Movistar Team) with 58 points.
