A week after the start of registration, over 12,000 users have already signed up for the FantaGiro d’Italia 2024, the official fantasy game of the Giro d’Italia jointly designed and produced by RCS Sport and the FantaSanremo Team.
The players, referred to as Fantallenatori, who have registered on the fantagiroditalia.it website by yesterday will take part in the draw of Hospitality Passes (Grande Partenza in Turin, Grande Arrivo in Rome and as well as other start and arrival locations of the stages) and Race Experience Giro d’Italia (Chrono Experience and Fly Experience), which will provide the lucky winner with the unique opportunity to experience a stage of the Corsa Rosa from an absolutely exclusive perspective. By 25 May, the deadline for registering and creating at least one team, users may still participate in the draw for other fantastic prizes, such as: digital edition subscriptions to the Gazzetta dello Sport, plush of Wolfie (the Giro mascot) by Trudi, gift cards for GiroStore in collaboration with All4Cycling, the Special Jerseys produced by Castelli to celebrate the most iconic stages of the Giro 2024 (Grande Torino 1949, Oropa Sanctuary/Pantani, Naples, Stelvio, Monte Grappa, Rome), the Giro d’Italia 2024 Jerseys (Rosa, Ciclamino, Azzurra and Bianca) autographed by their respective winners and a gorgeous Colnago V4Rs racing bike.

Needless to say, the most selected rider is Tadej Pogačar, the big favourite for the overall victory of the Giro d’Italia. The Slovenian champion has in fact been included in 48% of the teams created so far (around 4,900) despite costing a good 40 Wolfie (the official currency of the FantaGiro). Completing the podium of the most popular riders are Filippo Ganna, included in 34% of the teams (around 3,400), and Jonathan Milan, chosen in 32% of the teams (around 3,200). The coaches are also placing remarkable trust in Lorenzo Fortunato (selected in 22% of teams), Damiano Caruso (21%), Domenico Pozzovivo (20%), Alessandro Verre (15%), Nicola Conci (14.8%), Filippo Zana (13.8%) and Simone Consonni (13.7%).
Tadej Pogačar also leads the list of the most selected captain, a crucial role since the points earned by the latter based on the order of arrival of each stage will be doubled. The UAE Team Emirates leader was selected captain in around 4,600 teams, 46% of the teams created. Considerably further behind is Filippo Ganna, selected as leader in 8.3% of the teams (around 850), Geraint Thomas selected in 6.9% of the teams (around 700), Damiano Caruso with 6.5% (around 660 teams) and Jonathan Milan with 6.3% (just under 650 teams).
The most fun way to play the FantaGiro d’Italia and to share your passion for cycling with friends, colleagues and family is by forming or participating in a league. Excellent in this respect is the figure for the number of leagues created, almost 650. Also important is the participation in the leagues created by the fantasy game partners: La Gazzetta dello Sport (over 3,500 users) and Colnago (almost 2,500 users).
