The Giro d’Italia: where to follow the race on TV, Giro’s Website and Social

    06/05/2021

For the first time in history, RAI, the host broadcaster of the Giro d’Italia, will produce live international television coverage of all 21 stages – from the very first pedal stroke to the last – so that fans will be able to follow ‘the toughest race in the world’s most beautiful place’ without missing a minute of the action.

Images of the race will be distributed all over the planet, thanks to 20 different television networks.

Live ticker of the race every day on the Giro d’Italia website, available in 4 languages, on its social networks, and from this year the Corsa Rosa is also on TikTok.

    IN ITALY

As always, RAI will provide coverage of the Corsa Rosa to the national public on each and every day of the race, without interruption.

Each day of coverage will begin with a one-hour programme called “Villaggio di Partenza”, available on Rai Sport + HD, which will include rider presentations and pre-race interviews. Then it will be time for the “Anteprima Giro”, on that same channel, which will begin when the race starts and will continue until 14:00.

For the last, and most intense few hours of racing, broadcasting will move to Rai 2, with “Giro in Diretta”, up until 16:15, when “Giro all’Arrivo” will cover the very last moments of each stage until the finish, scheduled for 17:15. Immediately after the race, the traditional post-race analysis will be hosted on the same channel – the “Processo alla Tappa” will be broadcast for around 45 minutes.

Then, from 20:00, fans will be able to tune in again on Rai Sport + HD for a more in-depth analysis of the technical aspects of the race: TGiro will broadcast interviews, news and comment, followed by Giro Notte at 00:15, where diehard fans will be taken on a journey that looks back, moment by moment, at the highlights of the day’s stage

    AROUND THE WORLD

In Italy, the Corsa Rosa can also be followed on Eurosport, Eurosport Player and GCN+. The integral and multi-platform TV experience will be made available to the whole of Europe, Southeast Asia and the Indian subcontinent.

In Europe, the event will also be covered free-to-air by RSI in the Canton of Ticino, by EITB in the Basque Country, by S4C in Wales and by Virgin in Ireland.

In Mexico and Central America, the first grand tour of the season will be broadcast exclusively on TUDN, while the ESPN network will cover it for all of South America and the Caribbean, except for Colombia, where live free-to-air coverage will also be offered by Caracol.

Chinese fans will be able to enjoy the Corsa Rosa via the Zhibo.tv streaming platform, while New Zealand viewers can access the race via SKY Sports. Elsewhere, GCN+ will remain the main broadcasting platform for fans from the rest of the world.

SBS in Australia, J Sports in Japan and Supersport in Sub-Saharan Africa will also broadcast live all 21 stages of the Giro, as well as Discovery Group’s OTT

ON THE WEBSITE AND ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Fans can follow every moment of the 21 stages, and much more, via the race’s official website and via the Giro’s social media profiles (YouTube, Dailymotion, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram). The website offers dedicated live ticker in 4 languages. From the early hours of each morning, users will be able to find all the latest info about the day’s stage and can access maps, videos, the race’s media centre and links to the Corsa Rosa’s social media profiles by scrolling down through the page.

Both the website and social media of the race will offer daily stage highlights, animated route summaries, interviews with the riders and a whole series of extra content shot every day at the stage start and finish.

In addition to detailed coverage of the race, the site will also provide information on the territories and tourist attractions touched by ‘the toughest race in the world’s most beautiful place’.

Plus, the Giro d’Italia is also on TikTok for the first time this year, with the aim of reaching a new community through light-hearted videos and much more
