Stage 5 of the Giro d’Italia 2024, Genova – Lucca, was dominated by Benjamin Thomas (Cofidis), capable of scoring 101 points.
The French rider ran away with 50 points for the stage win (and the Medal), 10 in the intermediate sprints, 6 in the Intergiro award, and 2 on the 4th cat Gpm.
Thomas also scored 3 points for the “Equipment award”, 10 for the Breakaway award, and 20 for the “You never forget your first” bonus, for his first career Giro d’Italia win.
Tadej Pogačar and Michael Valgren complete the podium for the Genova – Lucca with 50 and 51 points respectively.
