Pedersen: "A perfect team, once again"
Mads Pedersen (Lidl Trek): “This was the plan from the very start this morning—we wanted to put some pressure on the bunch during the final climb, and the team was amazing, just like the other day. Everything went according to plan, and Vacek led me perfectly through the final kilometer. We wanted to take back the Maglia Rosa, and we did it. Ciccone also proved what a great team player he is, guiding me through the finale even though he’s targeting the GC. In the mountains, I’ll try to return the favor”.

Roglič is already in Pink... but will he want to let go of the jersey to ease the pressure?
These were the words from the Red Bull–Bora–Hansgrohe leader after the time trial: “I’m happy, no doubt! It wasn’t the time trial best suited to me, so I hadn’t planned on taking the Maglia Rosa. Usually, you dream of wearing it in Rome, but I’m satisfied with today’s result, even if I don’t care too much about the placement itself anymore. What I wanted was not to lose too much time. I feel good, my body’s working well, and I rode a strong time trial. It’s a bit different compared to the last time I wore it—two years ago, I claimed it on the penultimate day. Now it’s much earlier, and if we give it up, we’ll have to understand who to hand it to and how. In the meantime, I’ll enjoy it one day at a time, because you never know when it could be the last time… Tomorrow (today, ed.) there’s a tough climb, and everything will depend on how hard the pace is. Mads [Pedersen] is in great shape, and I think he’ll go for another sprint finish to try and take back the Maglia Rosa”.

Vlorë, where Albania proclaimed its independence
Vlorë is one of the oldest and most significant cities in Albania, located in the southwest of the country where the Adriatic Sea meets the Ionian. Founded in the 6th century BC as a Greek colony under the name Aulona, it is renowned as the place where, on 28 November 1912, Albania declared its independence from the Ottoman Empire. The historic center preserves traces of various ruling powers—from Roman to Byzantine to Ottoman. Vlorë is also an important commercial and tourist port, serving as a gateway to the Albanian Riviera. Notable attractions include the Zvernec Monastery, the Muradie Mosque, and the recently redeveloped seafront promenade. Today, the city is one of the most popular beach destinations in the country, thanks to nearby shores like Radhimë and the Orikum Bay.
