technical info
A stage clearly divided into two parts. The first section, up to Castelnuovo Garfagnana, is in steady, gentle ascent with no major challenges. The second half is filled with tough climbs and long descents, all on mountain roads full of curves and elevation changes. The first major climb is San Pellegrino in Alpe, which finishes about 1.5 km past the village and features gradients around 20%—the toughest section of the entire 2025 Giro. Additional climbs include Toano and the final ascent to Pietra di Bismantova, leading directly to Castelnovo ne’ Monti.
Final kilometres
The final 3 km feature an uphill ramp followed by a short descent into the town centre with some challenging curves. The last kilometre is all uphill, with a 100 m finishing straight on 6-metre-wide asphalt.
