BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ROUTE
An extremely simple route that, as the title says, runs the length and breadth of Naples' ‘lounge’, i.e., Via Caracciolo, along the cycle paths.
Technical info
The start point is ideally in front of the Diaz roundabout, but any place can be suitable. You can decide to go both clockwise and counterclockwise along the loop (which is very flat, since it is a round trip).
You ride along the cycle path between the road and the Gulf, first on a slight, imperceptible incline up to the Via Nazario Sauro roundabout and then back to the intersection with Via Sannazaro.
An uncomplicated route with the possibility to stop anywhere to take a selfie or get some refreshments.
NOTES:
You can stop at Naple’s Aquarium, at Castel dell’Ovo. A little further on –always being extremely cautious, since the is no cycle path and the road is not suitable for inexperienced cyclists – you can reach Piazza del Plebiscito, where the 2013 Giro d’Italia set off.
ROUTE CHANGES DURING YOUR RIDE:
If you want, you can extend the route a bit in both directions, keeping in mind that the cycle path ends, and the adjacent roads are fairly congested.
