tourist info

Reggio Emilia can boast the title of “City of the Tricolour”.

The flag of Italy was born in Reggio Emilia and was displayed for the first time on 7 January 1797 in the Tricolour Hall of the Town Hall. Adjacent to the Hall, the Tricolour Museum is an exhibition space whose collection consists of memorabilia related to the Italian flag.

With an approx. 50km detour south of Reggio Emilia, in the Parco Nazionale dell’Appennino Tosco Emiliano, you can admire the Pietra di Bismantova, an isolated rock massif with an unmistakable ship-shaped profile that formed around 15 million years ago.
