BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ROUTE
The route rolls almost entirely on the city cycle paths and is suitable for all riders, no matter their training.
Technical info
Bear always in mind that the cycle paths involved in this route are of different kinds. Some are on tarmac, others are gravel roads. Some are separated from the roadway, others are bike lanes. Some are just for the bicycles, others are also for pedestrians.
You set off from the large car park of the former Zucchi Barracks, follow the cycle path northwards as far as Due Torri and, from there, join the Crostolo promenade. Linking up the numerous cycle paths, the route rolls through Villa Terrachini Park, Nilde Iotti Park, Villa Gastinelli, Villa Rossi Lodesani Falcetti, Reggia di Rivalta Park, along the Crostolo cycle path northwards, the Dario Fo Dedicated Wood, Acque Chiare Park, Campo di Marte, and finally returns to Parco del Popolo and the start point.
Just about in any place along this city ride you can find eateries and shade to take a brake, enjoy the surroundings and easily forget that you are in a densely populated urban area.
NOTES:
There are, however, a few crossings and very short stretches along the city streets where you must watch out for motor traffic.
