BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ROUTE
The route rolls mostly on cycle paths along River Po with a little detour in the hills that can easily be bypassed (see below).
Technical info
From the Gran Madre you take the cycle path along River Po all the way to the confluence of River Po and River Dora Baltea, always remaining on the cycle path and therefore completing the turnaround by crossing the Dora twice.
The way back is entirely along the Po. The route (bike lane) crosses the river again at Ponte Umberto I and rolls through the Valentino Park. After Ponte Balbis, it continues along the river on a mostly unpaved cycle path to Fioccardo, where it takes in the climb up Cavoretto (1.4km / 7.5% average gradient). The descent leads to the Ponte Balbis area and, from there, a cycle path takes you back to the start point.
NOTES:
The route passes through many city parks (Suor Giovanna Michelotti Park, Meisino Nature Reserve, Confluenza Park, Pietro Colletta Park, Europa Park and Giacomo Leopardi Park, as well as Valentino Park) where you can stop for refreshments.
ROUTE CHANGES DURING YOUR RIDE:
At Fioccardo you can stay on the cycle path that runs along Corso Moncalieri and rejoin the original route at the end of the descent, thus cutting out the climb, if you do not feel trained enough.
